So what is the deal? China is home to the second largest internet viewing audience, 1.62 million people. However, there is a government network of web monitors called ‘great firewall.’

This surveillance network consists of somewhere between 30,000-50,000 ‘cyber cops,’ hired by the Chinese government, whose only job is to search the web for anything that seems anti-China.

Emails, web portals and even SMS are continuously viewed and deleted by these ‘cops.’ The problem is that the Chinese are extremely restricted as to what they can see or view over the web. There is no freedom whatsoever to express ideas, debate issues or to even learn anything other than the ‘China way.’

So it is up to us, those who have the freedom to blog and post whatever information we can, in hopes that it may get through to the other-side.

Blog the internet with information: Here is a website on how to safely do so: http://www.eff.org/

Why should people do this?

Even if it is taken down in 15 minutes, just as this posting will shortly be, its purpose will still hopefully be achieved. Your job, if choose to do so, is to take advantage of both the freedom and technology you have to spread the word. .
