What’s involved?
There are a bunch of things you can do to help solve the problem of bullying. Having input from a young person's point of view will be very effective on issues like this so get your voice heard and make something happen!
Have a plan
Help implement an action plan in your school or work:
talk to teachers, friends and other faculty members and employees and convince them to work with you to concoct a plan to reduce bullying.
Observe
Observe bullying in your community and report your findings to your local council, school, boss or human resources supervisor.
Create a support group
Gather friends and other employees to form a group that shares ideas of how to solve the bullying problem as well as skills and tactics used to protect yourself from bullying.
Help a friend
If a friend or fellow worker is being bullied, then be their friend. Walk with them to and from school. Try not to leave them alone in vulnerable situations and stand up for them if they are asked to do unreasonable or petty tasks, or when they are criticised.
Write a letter
Write to your local council or school board and tell them how you or a friend was affected by bullies and what would make you feel safer at school, in your community or at work. Think about what you can do by yourself and with others, and what the government or committees can contribute.
Why should people do this?
I want to do this!
