Free workshops that are being held in Sydney to help young GLBTi guys meet other young guys just like themselves, have fun and find out a bit of information along the way!!!

What’s involved?
Location: Sydney, just near Hyde Park...
What and How long?
The project is called The Fun and Esteem Project which is run by The Aids Council of NSW (ACON) at all different times throughout the year. There are 2 workshops that are run:
Start Making Sense: this program runs for 6 weeks, usually one night a week, for young guys 26 years and under, with about 10-15 other young guys and 2 facilitators....with lots of time allocated for socialising afterwards. Schools Out: this program runs one afternoon a week over several weeks for young guys 18 years and under. There is a real mixture of guys, some at school and some not and the group has about 10 other young guys and 2 volunteer facilitators. There is also lots of time allocated for socialising too.
What do I Need?
Just bring yourselves, don’t worry there is no need to be nervous in getting involved, the groups have a range of guys from all different backgrounds. The groups are fun and the facilitators will make you feel welcome – believe me I have been part of the group and I am now one of those friendly facilitator’s!!
Why should people do this?
Basically it provides a great space to talk about being gay, coming out, sex and sexual health, HIV, relationships, the gay community and other issues that may concern you. Plus the big bonus is that you get to meet other young guys who are experiencing similar things to yourselves, which means there are heaps of opportunities to make great friends and it’s all confidential!!!
