What’s involved?

How much water do you use in one day? Do you eat red meat, fish and dairy products every week? Do you drive a hybrid car or a gas guzler? When you leave the house, do you turn off all the lights or leave them on to scare away potential robbers? Do you bike or take public transit to school/work?

These are questions to consider on a day to day basis because the simple things, like leaving the stereo on for background noise, or running the tap while you wash the dishes can affect the amount of toxic emissions that we put into the earths atmosphere. Mother nature has reached a point where she is unable to fix herself from all the damage humans have done. We are the ones to blame, but there is still hope. We can also fix it and contribute to its sustainability levels. We only have one world, so we have to take care of it the best we can.

Most people ask themselves what they can do to help, and then get scared away at the idea of taking action. The common response- "Its too hard"- "I dont know how to get involved"- "I dont have the time" etc.. These excuses are inexcusable.

If you want to get involved, a lot of the time all it takes is the click of your mouse and bam, you can sign a petition or write a letter to an MP. If you are reading this, then it is obvious that you want to know how to make a difference any way you can. I was thinking the same thing when I visited the World Wildlife Foundations website. I signed up for a panda passport and then looked at the International site- and low and behold they had a quiz to find out your ecological footprints.

Check it out- see how you can change your lifestyle for the better. Make positive footprints on the world and you can start by changing your day to day activities- one step at a time. Its the little things that count!

Why should people do this?

It is our responsibility to treat others the way we want to be treated, so why cant we show the same respect to the environment? Dont we also have a personal responsibility to keep our world clean for the generations to come?

I want to do this!
