What’s involved?
Carers NSW is seeking enthusiastic volunteers for its state wide camps for:

Who are Young Carers?
Young carers are children or young people, 25 years or under, who help care for someone in their family with an illness, disability, mental illness, or alcohol or drug problem.
Young carers usually have more responsibilities in their households than their peers. This can have an impact on their social interactions, emotional and physical health, schooling and future life transitions.
Why should people do this?
The Role of Camp Leader involves:
- Assisting with the day-to-day organisation of camp.
- Responsibility for an allocated group of campers (by cabin) on a twenty-four hour basis
- Ensuring that all campers in your group attend to their daily living activities (eg meals, hygiene, sleep, hydration sun protection, medication etc).
- Liaising with Village Leaders and Camp Coordinator with regard to daily activities or any concerns as required.
- Knowing the camp schedule and assist with the briefing and debriefing of campers in relation to all major activities.
- Participating in Leader Meetings as required.
- Participating in all activities, unless rostered off.
- Facilitating in pre camp and post camp evaluation on first and last days of camp.
- Being involved with campers and having fun!
