What’s involved?
Spread awareness and support
* Make flyers.
* Perform a role play situation for your school showing possible solutions and self protection tactics.
* Help people who have been abused to cope by giving out information on ways to understand your feelings. Encourage them to talk to counsellors, friends and family, see a doctor immediately if possible.
* Help people understand their rights!

Report incidences
* Making a formal statement to the police is one step to further your protection from the perpetrator and better the chances of him or her getting caught.
* Giving out information on what consists of making a proper statement and the benefits can be helpful. It can include: telling police what happened, advice to request a female officer if that will make the victim more comfortable, figure out what charges are going to be implemented if any, and getting lawyer advice from officers.
Get on board
* Join a local support group or a more major campaign such as ‘Don’t get spiked’ awareness campaign.
Start your own
* Start a campaign in your community or amongst friends, or at your uni. The more people know, the easier it is for them to avoid an abusive situation and harder for assaulters to successfully harm someone.
Write a letter
* Write to your local councillor with an idea to improve the safety and awareness in your community.
Every little bit helps, so whether you start a campaign or just look out for your mates, it can make all the difference for someone!
Why should people do this?
