What’s involved?

Introducing Fill The Dams, a new fundraising initiative aiming to raise money and awareness for drought relief and water conservation in Australia.
We're offering online advertising and recognition in exchange for contributions that will be donated on to three water-related charities - The Salvation Army Drought Appeal, Sustainable Living Foundation and the Australian Conservation Foundation.
The following description is taken from the website:

Two dams. $1 per litre. $1 million to charity
Australia is currently in the grip of one of the most severe droughts in our short history. The Government has increased funding for drought relief but this is not enough - the entire community must band together and show how powerful the collective Aussie spirit can be.
We feel the focus of the drought problem weighs far too heavily on the negative. Breaching water restrictions are met with harsh punishments and we are even being encouraged to report our fellow neighbours as "water wallies". At Fill the Dams, we'd like to celebrate the positives. This site endeavours to give recognition to all the organisations and individuals who have done their bit to save our community from the cruel hand of nature.
The objective is to simply fill the two "virtual dams" (one for individuals and one for organisations) with "virtual litres". 1 litre costs AU$1 and the litres you purchase will be comprised of your personal initials or company image. Not only will your business receive considerable exposure and recognition as a water-conscious organisation, but proceeds from the sale of virtual litres will be passed directly on to drought-relief / water conservation charities.
However, as our aim is to educate on water conservation and prevent water wastage, being able to purchase litres in the virtual dams comes only as a reward for being water-conscious. Nowhere else can you give to charity while promoting yourself or your business at the same time. Do not let a good deed go unnoticed and become a part of Australian Internet history!
--------------------
$1 million is a lofty aim but with the support of a few large organisations and public exposure no target is out of reach! You can help by telling your friends and colleagues and by making a small contribution.
Why should people do this?
I want to do this!
