Rabbit damage is destroying albatross breeding habitat on Macquarie Island, the only such habitat in Australia

Australia's World Heritage listed Macquarie Island is home to many unique plants and animals, including nearly four million seabirds. It provides vital nesting habitat for four threatened albatross species.

Unfortunately the island is being devastated by growing numbers of rabbits, rats and mice, with scientists reporting dramatic landslips that have killed penguins, and albatross nests that have literally fallen off hillsides.

An eradication plan for Macquarie Island has been developed, but has not yet been funded - we can stop this damage from continuing.

Join WWF's petition telling Ian Campbell, the Australian Government Minister for the Environment and Heritage, and the Tasmanian Premier Paul Lennon that you support the urgent eradication of rabbits and rodents off Macquarie Island.
