We all know how good sharing our things with someone can make us feel. At Christmas time our instincts may be to share enough to ensure our families are well fed and gifted. OzHarvest is an organisation who rely on the kindness of corporations and individuals to share food with those who may be on their own or doing it tough. Will you have any spare food this Christmas?

There are many ways you can contribute to OzHarvest, and not just throughout Christmas time.

  • Donate food. Have you ever had a party where you over catered? Did you throw a lot of that food out? OzHarvest can ensure that excess food is redistributed to those who have emptier bellies than we do.
  • Do you know somebody who runs a restaurant or food service? See if you can convince them to minimise their waste by giving unwanted food away.
  • Volunteer to ride in the OzHarvest van to distribute food to the needy. See the difference benevolent individuals make first hand.
  • Volunteer to help out with administration, fundraising or special projects.
  • Donate - donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
OzHarvest is based in Sydney and has redistributed over two million meals. That's a lot of hungry bellies filled!
