What’s involved?
Scientists tell us that not only is global warming real but it is happening far faster than previously thought. Many people, including WWF-Australia, believe that we need to move rapidly to create a clean energy future. In order to reduce greenhouse gas pollution quickly, firm targets and timetables for controlling pollution are required immediately.
Doing so will increase investment not only in the clean production of energy and energy efficiency, but also in research and development activities that have the potential to make Australia a world leader in clean energy technologies - a rapidly growing multi-billion dollar global market.
WWF-Australia is running a petition calling for the immediate introduction of a firm greenhouse gas reduction target to be presented to the federal and state governments.
