These seminars are well regarded for presenting up to date research, blended with evidence-based examples and practical strategies and our presenters are all able to draw on practical, classroom based experiences.

The following seminars are a distillation of our research and experience in assisting teachers to work with boys in ways that are respectful and strength-based. The workshop are one day workshops to be held in various locations in NSW.

ROCK AND WATER TRAINING PROGRAM SAFETY | INTEGRITY | SOLIDARITY | SELF-CONTROL | SELF-CONFIDENCE | SELF-RESPECT

Our Rock and Water program has won international and national awards. This training is proudly presented by the Family Action Centre and Gadaku Institute. The training offers teachers, educators and youth workers a new way to interact with boys through physical-social teaching. Our program constantly links physical exercises with mental and social skills. Starting with simple, self-defence, boundary and communication exercises it leads to a strong notion of self-confidence and an awareness of purpose and motivation.

The program includes numerous opportunities for boys and girls to explore their own identity, learning and relationships in a non-threatening way. Many schools have introduced Rock and Water as an effective anti-bullying tool. Rock and Water is presented by Freerk Ykema, a respected educationalist from The Netherlands who trains educators throughout the world or Brian Hayes, an experienced high school teacher who is focused on strategies to enhance social and emotional development of students.
