What’s involved?
Based on the highly successful School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) in the UK, SSE Australia is dedicated to identifying, developing and supporting social entrepreneurs to establish effective, sustainable community projects and initiatives that meet social and community needs. SSE Australia will select 15-20 individuals to commence a new ‘block’ mode program which involves a series of 3-day intensive learning sessions, one-to-one tutorials, mentoring sessions, project visits and a 3-day residential. Please visit www.sse.org.au to see the program dates.
• No formal qualifications are required – just a project, business or idea to address an unmet social or community need
• Students may range in age from 20-75 and be serving diverse communities and issues
• SSE in many cases can provide bursaries to cover the full program costs
Why should people do this?
Do you have an idea to set up an organisation or business that will benefit your community? Are you running an existing project that you want to develop and sustain? Would you benefit from tailored, personal support whilst you're making positive social change? Could practical insights from social entrepreneurs and regular guidance from a personal tutor help you to reach your objectives? The SSE could be your chance to get started!
