What’s involved?
Traditional ideas of the the Aussie bloke are being rejected by a community that no longer accepts that model for today’s young men.This identity crisis is serious: one of the leading causes of death in Australia amongst men is suicide.
Problems of suicide, sexual identity, communication and depression though are largely ignored among men. How can we encourage men to give voice to these issues, and to find a sense of belonging within a society that is changing so rapidly?
The Young Men’s Program is by far the most popular of all School’s Out! Programs, and has been facilitated right across Australia. The Program aims to address some of the issues facing our young men: .
* Self esteem
* Communication
* Anger awareness and management
*Stress management.
* Masculinity – what does it mean to be a man?
* Body image
* Drugs & alcohol
* Sexual health
* Mental health
* How to help out a mate – and ultimately, ourselves.
* Where to go for help?
* Goal setting and being positive male leaders
