What’s involved?

The Federal Government has recently confirmed its commitment to addressing violence against women in two documents, “Time for Action: The National Council’s Plan for Australia to Reduce Violence Against Women and their Children, 2009-2021”, and, “The National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women – Immediate Government Actions April 2009”.

The NSW Stop Violence Against Women (SVAW) Network is committed to making sure the government fulfils its commitments under this plan, particularly with regard to ensuring that its proposals are adequately funded. In conjunction with women's organisations, the NSW SVAW network is holding a roundtable forum in response to the Government’s proposals for a National Plan.

When: Thursday 16 July 2009, 6.20pm for 6.30 start At: Amnesty International NSW Action Centre, Level 1, 79 Myrtle Street, Chippendale, NSW (10 minutes walk from Central Station)

Why should people do this?

To contribute to the Federal Government and Amnesty’s response to end violence against women.
