What’s involved?
The Australian Government is trying to clear the way for
Terminator technology - help stop them!
'Terminator seeds are genetically engineered to be sterile. They have been developed by the multinational seed/agrochemical industry and the United States government to prevent farmers from saving and re-planting harvested seed.
There is currently a de facto ban on Terminator under the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), however the Australian Government is leading a push to undermine this moratorium. We need your help to stop them.' (The True Food Network)
Click on this link to find out more about the Terminator: http://www.truefood.org.au/).
Once you have read about the topic and decided what your opinion is, you can take action in a really quick and easy way by clicking on this link and sending off the pre-written letter to our Agriculture Minister, expressing your concern about the Terminator: http://www.banterminator.org/take_action/national_...
Alternatively, if you're really passionate about the subject or don't feel that the letter says what you really want it to, you can think about writing your own letter and sending it directly to Peter McGauran at: Peter.McGauran.MP@aph.gov.au.
Why should people do this?
