Taking the 'con' out of 'constitution' seminar

A free public lecture on how spicing up Australia's constitution could solve a lot of important problems.

The Lowdown

When: 26/11/2008 - 26/11/2008
Where: NSW
Costs: Free

What’s involved?

What do global warming, the economic meltdown and health care crisis have in common? They could all be solved by changing the constitution, says Rodger Hills, author of the educational pro-democracy book The Consensus Artifact.

Since the 1999 Republic Referendum, those who support a republic and those who wanna stick with the Queen have done a great job of conning the Australian public, convincing us that the necessary changes to our nation’s constitution are a dangerous thing.

In his free public lecture, Hills will debunk this myth. Bookings are not necessary so just rock up and discuss change to Australia’s most important document.

Why should people do this?

Because the constitution needs some fresh ideas and youth input. The constitution is the document that defines our country’s ideals and way of life, and as Hill suggests, we can solve a lot of problems by updating it! Get informed, and have your say.
