POSITION 1: Communications Assistant [Internship]
Start Date: Early February – End May 2008
Commitment: 2 days p/week [Flexible Monday-Sunday, 10-6pm]
OVERVIEW
As we gear up for launch, The Fair Trade Company seeks a committed, enthusiastic and self motivated Communications Assistant. This is a unique opportunity, offering you the chance to:
- Hone your skills on a meaty project, working across all aspect of our communications strategy , both online and off.
- Play a meaningful role on a new venture, contributing to style, tone & direction.
- Work amongst a flexible, collaborative, happy and down to earth team.
- Be involved in a vital campaign, growing the fair trade movement & raising awareness around ethical consumerism.
ESSENTIALS
- Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal.
- Great organisational skills, the ability to plan personal workload & meet deadlines.
- A creative mind, someone able to generate fresh ideas & new angles.
- Solid research skills, thinking outside the box to source information.
- A committed work ethic, self motivated & enthusiastic.
- Collaborative, down to earth & a positive team player.
- Speedy tying abilities & a high level of computer literacy, including Word, Excel, Outlook.
DESIRABLE
- Skills in design applications i.e. Photoshop.
- An understanding of online marketing.
- An interest & appreciation for the fair trade movement.
PUSITION 2: Business Development Assistant [Internship]
Start Date: Early February – End May 2008
Commitment: 2 days p/week [Flexible Monday-Sunday, 10am-6pm]

- Marketing, brand development, operations and distribution.
- Play a meaningful role on a new venture, contributing to the development and
- implementation of new products, brands, and advocacy campaigns.
- Work in a flexible, collaborative, happy and down to earth team.
- Be involved in a vital campaign, growing the fair trade movement & raising awareness
