Trek4Cancer
'Trek4Cancer' is a group of 4 women, raising funds for research into cancer treatment and prevention. In October 2007 Leanne Bailey, Kita George, Olivia Lyne and Nikki Smith will walk some of the more challenging sections of the Great Wall of China to raise money for the Cancer Council NSW research program.
In 2005, both of Leanne's parents were diagnosed with terminal cancer. In an effort to help support her family during this difficult time Leanne joined the first team to complete the Cancer Council NSW International Treks program and raised more than $18,000.
While Leanne's mother continues to battle with the disease sadly her father passed away in 2006. In memory of her father, Leanne, and three of her close friends, Kita, Olivia and Nikki, are currently preparing for the challenge of walking the Great Wall.
To help raise awareness and support, ‘Trek4Cancer’ will be holding several fundraising events over the next few months.
