Some things to do:
- Research before you apply to universities – check out the different fees for the degree that you want to study.
- Find out what the cut-off entry scores for Commonwealth supported versus full fee-paying places is at your uni for your degree.
- Speak with family/friends about uni costs and your concerns/ideas.
- Get active at your university campus to inform other students - put up posters, hand out flyers, speak at the beginning of lectures.
- Network with like-minded people.
- Run an information session/discussion group – bring up the issue of increasing fees in an existing meeting/group that you attend. Contact relevant organisations to get current information.
- Write letters to the editor of your local papers/online forums and tell them how the changing uni costs affect you.
- Make an artwork/performance.
- Speak on community radio/TV programs.
- Join your local political party that has the same view as you – they often have junior branches.
If you oppose the rising costs of university action you can:
- Contact your university union and the National Union for Students to see what campaigns they have going. Attend union meetings and contribute to the union newsletter/magazine.
