What’s involved?

If you are a fan of the arts then you will know that there is no better place to experience them in all their glory than at the Melbourne Fringe Festival.

This year, why not really find out what goes on by becoming a part of the Festival yourself — be a Volunteer. Volunteers work in pretty much every area of all events so whatever you are into there will be something for you.

We need people in areas including (but not restricted to) Front of house, Box office, Ticketing, Information centre, production, bar, launches, exhibition installation, bump in/out, admin etc.

Hours are flexible and generally run in shifts of 5 hours — whilst most front of house, box office, bar and launch work is in the evenings, those who have time available in the daytimes are happily welcomed to the ticket lines, information booths, exhibition minding and administration.

We need people every day from the beginning of September to 14 of October, and whether you can do three shifts or 33 we appreciate your work – without Volunteers the Festival would not be able to go ahead.

In return all volunteers can go and see Festival shows for free (according to availability), get loads of discounts from local businesses, meet people from all over the world, have an amazing time, all whilst gaining invaluable experience in the arts world.

The Volunteer Information Session will be held on the 28 th August at Horse Bazaar 397 Little Lonsdale St, City. The night starts from 6pm, so come along to find out more about the festival, the people who organise it, the volunteer positions available and the perks for you to enjoy!!

This is a great opportunity to meet the people that you will be working with and get a sneak peak into what’s going to happen at The Age 2007 Melbourne Fringe Festival!

Make sure you bring your friends and any one interested in becoming a volunteer at this year’s festival.

Anyone interested in being involved in the most fun to be had in Melbourne this September and October should head to www.melbournefringe.com.au download the volunteer application form, fill it in and send it off as soon as possible. Any questions or if you want more information feel free to contact Volunteer Coordinator Kate Donnelly on (03) 8412 8788 or by e mail at kate@melbournefringe.com.au.

I want to do this!
