Bigger Than My Body Gives Me Credit For

Submitted by: catti | 2 comments

This gallery is about re-teaching ourselves to see living people. We're conditioned by today's magasines and tv shows to make allegiances with brands and products. All attempts to change this encourage us to cast off our superficial selves and see true beauty underneath. But even this way of thinking is counter-productive. The challenge for young people today is not to aspire to a tolerance of the ugly. The challenge is to see others and ourselves as creatures who live and to recognise that that has an inherent value. To do this we have to think bigger than bodies and that's what this gallery is all about! This gallery is made up mostly of pictures of my friends and family because they're the most meaningful to me, but if anyone wants to link me to photos which capture not people but spirit, I'd love to include them.
