Graffiti in Sydney

Just a few pictures of graffiti around Newtown. What do you think...art or vandalism?

After doing a fact sheet on graffiti and talking to a few artists about it, I decided to go see for myself what's out there. Roaming around the streets of Newtown I found some pretty amazing stuff...it really made me appreciate the skill level involved in graffiti! Lots of people automatically picture tags when they think of graffiti, but there is a lot more than that! Here are some pictures of both legal and illegal street art, check it out...

Should some of this stuff be titled more "Street Art" as opposed to graffiti? Some of this stuff is beautiful - and possibly had a permit to be painted. But very nice shots. I love the "I have a dream" one. I love looking at it everytime I get lost in Newtown.

Love the photos! Real urban stuff.

Go photography and graffiti. It's good to see creativity all around us. I wonder if I could get someone to do my room.
