When I was a kid my uncle was in a rock band. His band released a CD when I was about 7 years old. On the front cover of the CD case was a black and white photograph of heaps of injured bunnies all squashed up together in cages. I asked my Dad what was wrong with all the little bunnies- he said the bunnies were in an animal-testing lab; they were being used to test cosmetics.
Ever since I saw this photograph on my uncles CD case I haven’t stopped thinking about animal testing and animal rights. This photograph made me want to be a vegetarian and buy products that were not tested on animals.
Sure bunnies are feral animals in Australia, and I can see the value of animal testing for medical and scientific research purposes, but I’m definitely NOT totally fine with animal testing. Bunnies feel pain and bunnies have a right to live too- just like every creature on Earth.
The following images are some illustrations that I have drawn of what I'm calling 'Hell Bunnies': bunnies that have been through the hell of animal testing.
