Why do we exist ?

The Australian Student Environment Network (ASEN) is the network of students active on environmental justice issues in schools, campuses and communities across Australia.

ASEN was created by and continues to be organised by young activists committed to change. Students use our network to organise local campaigns; we also embark on national campaigns such as Climate Change. Although environmental destruction continues and injustice continues on a large scale, these problems are finding their match with the energy of students and youth willing to fight for our future!

What do we do ?

We organise in over forty environment collectives across Australia. We share skills, resources, ideas, campaigns and work together for positive social change! We are currently campaigning on Climate Change, make schools and universities sustainable, working with Indigenous communities to end Genocide, for Sovereignty and for Treaty, and creating a nuclear-free future.

ASEN in its biggest form meets at the annual Students of Sustainability (SOS) conference each July, which attracts around 1000 students for a week of discussion, workshops, forums and actions around a variety of different environment, indigenous and social justice issues. What opportunities do we have for young people ?

- Organise collectively for social change – we work with young people in environment collectives from every state and territory in Australia.
- Gain heaps of skills – campaign strategy, website layout and design, fundraising, networked-based organising, policy analysis, writing and change,
- Be a part of Australia’s largest environmental student network. Change our world!
