Centre for Volunteering

Why do we exist ?

The Centre for Volunteering is the peak body for volunteering in NSW. We promote and support volunteering and community participation.

What do we do ?

We connect people and organisations in order to enrich the community. We achieve this through referral, training, resource development, information and consulting services to help people get involved in their communities, and enhance the capacity and skills of not-for-profits, corporations and government for community involvement.

What opportunities do we have for young people ?

Young people can get involved in our Student Community Involvement Program. SCIP brings together schools and community organisations and teaches students about the benefits of and opportunities for volunteering in the community.

Young people can contact The Centre for guidance and advice on finding volunteer work with organisations that are keen to engage young people as volunteers.

Other Stuff

Also if you have a volunteer experience you'd like to write about - we'd love to put your stories on our website. If you're interested please contact Maia Giordano, The Centre's Youth Volunteer Program Manager.

There is a similar organisation in Victoria called Volunteering VIC. In fact each state has a peak body for volunteering! See also www.volunteeringaustralia.org.
