Why do we exist ?
We’re working to offer as many Australians as possible the opportunity to see and hear one of the great leaders of our time –the Dalai Lama. His messages of compassion and peace in a time of great stress resonate deeply with people all over the world and younger people particularly. The theme of the The Dalai Lama 2007 Australian Tour is ‘Open Arms – Embracing Kindness’.
What do we do ?
In Australia the Dalai Lama is focusing particularly on environmental issues with the Sustainability and Spirituality Forum in Perth, the One Earth Free Public Talk and Tribute Concert at the Domain in Sydney, and the launch of Kindness Week at Australia Zoo and a presentation on conservation and kindness to animals.
The Tour starts in Perth on 6 June and then moves to Bendigo, Melbourne, Geelong, Canberra, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Sydney, before the Dalai Lama flies out to New Zealand on 16 June.
The Dalai Lama teaches that all the world’s systems are closely related and we are custodians of the planet, that we must take better care.
Dalai Lama In Australia Ltd (DLIAL) is the not-for-profit organiser of the Australian tours of His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet. The National Head Office is based in Melbourne, Victoria.
What opportunities do we have for young people ?
