Diabetes Australia (NSW) is a non-profit, non-government charity dedicated to helping all people with diabetes, all of their lives.
We provide education programs, conduct public awareness campaigns, fund research into diabetes management and the search for a cure and, through advocacy, protect the rights of people with diabetes. We achieve our mission through
members’ funds and the
community support of our fellow Australians.
Buzz Day is our annual merchandise fundraising campaign raising funds to take the sting out of diabetes. The event involves the sale of merchandise throughout the month of September at supporting retail outlets, culminating into our signature day Buzz Day on
Friday 21st September 2007. On this day staff, and many volunteers, will be out and about beating the diabetes drum.
Whart you need to know about Buzz Day?
Duties will include selling merchandise, cash handling, communicating with the public.
Ideally volunteers will be assertive, outgoing, confident, bubbly personality.
Each volunteer will be supplied with a T-shirt and ID badge. Volunteers are able to keep their T-shirt as a thank you from Diabetes Australia (NSW).
Time slots for volunteer opportunities include: 7am-10am, 11.30am - 2.30pm, 4pm - 6.30pm, All Day
Locations throughout the Sydney CBD: Central, Town Hall, Wynyard, Martin Place, Circular Quay, St Leonards, Strathfield, Parramatta, Gosford, QVB Forecourt, Pitt Street Mall
