Easy Being Green

Easy Being Green was founded to help people actively tackle climate change. We make it easy for individuals and communities to reduce and offset (or: balance out) their greenhouse gas pollution and water usage.

We view global warming as the major social issue affecting everyone on earth. The good news? A reduction in your individual CO2 pollution and water usage will not only help to save the planet, it will save you money too.

The biggest impact on climate change will be made through the collective action of individuals across the globe, not through big business or government schemes.

In short: cut CO2 pollution. We do this by running energy saving projects in the community. It’s simple, really. By providing and installing energy efficient light globes and water saving showerheads in homes, businesses and schools, we reduce our customers’ electricity consumption. Because electricity in Australia is mainly generated via coal-burning power stations, using less electricity directly reduces CO2 pollution.

In 2006, for example:
* we provided almost half a million homes with Climate Saver Packs containing energy efficient products - working together with businesses, schools & clubs.
* Reduced 620,000 tonnes of CO2 pollution per year, the equivalent to taking 150,000 cars off the road
* Saved 5.8 gigalitres of water – the equivalent to 2500 Olympic sized swimming pools
* Saved households $32.3 Million off their energy bills

We also have packages online for people to offset or balance out their CO2 pollution, which don’t require any installations. This drives energy efficiency even faster.

Go Carbon Neutral (what?!)!
2. Balancing out the pollution your life creates by becoming Carbon Neutral. You can make your car Carbon Neutral, buy Carbon Neutral gifts (such as a Carbon Neutral t-shirt) or even make your entire life Carbon Neutral. Arrange a Free Installation Service in your neighbourhood (Sydney)
3. If you live in Sydney you can arrange a Free Installation Service of energy efficient products in your communities’ homes and businesses. To be eligible for the Service all properties must be located within Sydney and the total booking must be for at least 100 globes. If this is so, all you have to do is call the Customer Service Line on 1300 789 324 to book a time and Easy Being Green will send an installation team at your convenience.
