Why do we exist ?

To promote a better deal for Third World producers, their families and their communities through fair trade

See our website to find out how you can become involved in our activities such as Fair Trade Fortnight and Fair Trade Communities.

What do we do ?

We co-ordinate promotional activities in Australia and New Zealand for fair trade; administer the Fairtrade labelling system which guarantees a better deal for Third World producers of commodities such as coffee, tea and chocolate; support businesses such as coffee roasters who are licensed to use the FAIRTRADE Label on their Fairtrade certified products; and link businesses in Australia and New Zealand with Fairtrade producers in the Asia Pacific region and around the world.

What opportunities do we have for young people ?

FTAANZ supports young people working together with their community to promote fair trade to businesses, retailers, schools, universities, councils, churches, workplaces and other organisations. We actively support Hooked, the fair trade student movement. We welcome applications from young people for volunteer projects within the organisation.
