Why do we exist ?

ICAN believes a world without nuclear weapons is possible, and that WE CAN make it happen. Right now there are 26,000 nuclear weapons in our world with 5,000 on hair trigger alert. However there are many forces within Governments and communities are commited to abolishing nuclear weapons – and we are making progress. A groundswell of public opposition to nuclear weapons can ensure Governments act on this issue.

What do we do ?

We campaign against nuclear weapons. This ranges from organising events, education programs, on-line networking, talking to the Government and the UN and everything else.

What opportunities do we have for young people ?

We have an education program that young people to implement themselves.

We have kits for young people to take with stickers, badges, and ideas to paint your own banners.

We need young people to promote our cause on networking sites, and to coordinate these.
