The Act-Belong-Commit Campaign was developed in attempt to stem the tide of the ever increasing rates of mental illness.
The Campaign encourages everyone to take action to improve their mental wellbeing.
Act-Belong-Commit encourages everyone to do things to keep mentally healthy. It’s as easy as A-B-C.
Act – be physically, socially and cognitively active. Walk the dog, draw, paint, chat with neighbours, do a crossword puzzle or Sudoku.
Belong – join in community events and activities. Join a sporting club, a book club or attend a community festival.
Commit – make commitments to the activities you engage in. Challenge yourself, learn a language, learn to dance, volunteer, help out for a good cause.
These activities make us feel good and give us the strength to bounce back during tough times.
Most of us are already involved in some activities that keep us mentally healthy, even if we don’t know it.
