Why do we exist ?
Multicultural Youth is the premier multicultural youth body in the Northern Territory, designed to be a non-political avenue for young people to have their voices heard, it focuses on sustaining and developing multiculturalism in the Northern Territory.
What do we do ?
MyNT hopes to be a catalyst for the positive social change in the Northern Territory and is committed to finding ways and means of improving community life through purposeful engagement.
By developing workshops and activities, the project aims to unite youth of the area in a discussion of the issues that affect them and a meaningful avenue for their voice to be heard.
In addition to the activities run by MyNT the organisation assists in the capacity building of new and emerging migrant and ethnic youth group through support and mentorship.
What opportunities do we have for young people ?
Young people are MyNT!
MyNT’s decision making body is formed by young people from a wide variety of backgrounds who are aged between 15 and 25, in addition to the youth executive, MyNT has a broad membership base.
The youth executive board, being the decision making body, are active players in the development and sustainability of the organisation. In recognition for the work that young people commit to the continuous development of the organisation MyNT is committed to providing ongoing training, skills and professional development to our volunteers.
The programs/activities/projects that MyNT run, are planned, developed and to different degrees delivered by young people, this ensures that young people address the issues relevant to their needs.
