Why do we exist ?
Queensland Conservation is here to help all those who care about the environment and to help your voice be heard where it matters most: in government, industry and the community. Queensland Conservation is the peak body for the environment in this state, and the leading advocate for environmental protection and sustainability.
What do we do ?
We campaign on state-wide issues and are currently focussed on:
We are also an umbrella organisation for a
network of member groups working across the spectrum of environment issues throughout
Queensland.
What opportunities do we have for young people ?
The Queensland Conservation Council has an active volunteer policy and process. We are members of Volunteering Qld, and respect the rights and values of volunteers, in whatever capacity.
QCC has many volunteers including those who sit on conservation committees throughout the state, our own executive, office volunteers, campaign volunteers and a diverse range of other people who give QCC a helping hand throughout the year.
If you are interested in volunteering with QCC, click
here to download the registration form, and send it to us, so we can assess what kind of work is available for you and what you might be interested in doing! Some are regular, some flexible, some short term, some long term. Some finite, some ongoing.
Other Stuff
Are you interested in becoming a member group of Queensland Conservation?
Environmental groups around Queensland are encouraged to apply for membership. Queensland Conservation currently has over 70 member groups who, through the elected executive, oversee the strategic management of the organisation.
Services offered to Member Groups of Queensland Conservation are listed
here
The conditions of entry for becoming a Member Group are listed
here.
If your group satisfies the conditions, you can download an Expression of Interest Form
here.
After your application has been received, we may send you an Application Form. You must then accept certain responsibilities, and be nominated and seconded by two current Member Groups (listed below), then send the application form back to us. All our current Member Groups will then be notified of your application and the Executive will decide whether to admit you or not.
