Why do we exist ?
The SEARCH Foundation was established in 1990 to promote greater understanding in the community of the main factors affecting social life, influencing social development and advancing social well-being.
We summarise all this by saying we promote democracy, social justice and environmental sustainability.
What do we do ?
The SEARCH Foundation funds research, assists the work of individuals and organisations, and helps to produce publications in line with SEARCH's vision and objectives.
The SEARCH Foundation also contributes organising skills to campaigns as well as developing and implementing projects to further advance our objectives.
What opportunities do we have for young people ?
InspirActivism: A training program for young activists interested and engaged in progressive social change. The training consist of an inter-generational dialogue and exchange with veteran activists who share their experiences, knowledge and ideas with younger activists.
Mentoring program: Get an experienced activist mentor who can assist and support you through the work that you are doing or are interested in engaging in.
Campaigns: Join any of our Australian campaigns and international solidarity campaigns (for more info please visit our website).
Become a member: As a SEARCH member you will be supporting SEARCH activities, invited to the events we organise, have a say at General Meetings and local group meetings, and receive the Search News (comes out six times a year) giving up-dates on our activities, current news and important issues.
Most importantly, you can meet other SEARCH members who have an amazing array of knowledge, skills and experience.
