Why do we exist ?
To bring joy and make a difference to the lives of people in need in the Phillippines and to support activities that deliver long-term benefits for the wider community. To undertake our activities with passion, commitment, integrity and a great sense of fun that inspires and enriches the lives of everyone involved with Seconds to Give.
What do we do ?
- Collection of second hand clothes, linen, toys and other household items from within Australia for distribution to impoverished villages in the Phillipines
- Provision of emergency funds to assist families in impoverished communities following emergencies such as floods and to support the re-building of community infrastructure
- Sponsoring schooling for disabled and impoverished children
- Supporting other charities (eg donating winter clothes that aren't suitable for the Phillippines that a charity that supports an orphanage in Nepal)
- Fundraising to support activities
- A music project that will raise funds through concerts in Australia to purchase musical instruments which will be donated to schools in the Phillippines, together with the time and expertise of an Australian music teacher.
What opportunities do we have for young people ?
- Donating second hand clothes, linen, toys and other household items
- Helping with the collection and packaging of second hand items
- Making a donation to assist with activities
- Sponsoring a student
- Assisting with fundraising including helping to organise or taking part in a fundraising activity.
