Why do we exist ?
The Sydney City Farm vision is to create an organic city farm to showcase an eco-friendly future on the site of the old psychiatric hospital in Callan Park Rozelle.
What do we do ?
At present, we are a group of dedicated volunteers lobbying state government to be granted a space of 3 – 6 hectares to create our community city farm and education centre. Once we have the land, the farm wil becomes a vital centre for community participation and learning, managed by the Sydney City Farm committee, employees and volunteers from the community and the various mental health NGOs on the site.
What opportunities do we have for young people ?
At the moment, help with lobbying, publicising the vision of the Sydney City Farm or to simply join up as members to support the project and receive newsletters and information. Once the farm is a reality, young people will play a vital role as volunteers and participants in the running of the farm, nursery, coffee shop and animal care.
