Why do we exist ?
Traxside is a free and confidential health service for all young people aged 12-25 years in the Macarthur area. We provide Counselling, Nurses Clinic, Resources, Free Safe Sex supplies, Needle & Syringe Program, Worker on Duty service and free Internet and computer access.
Traxside is part of the Macarthur Health Service, so we also run health promotion programs on health issues in schools and for other services.
What do we do ?
The majority (70%) of young people that use our Beanbag centre surf the Internet. The other users range from help with resumes, to learning basic computer needs.
The growth area now is learning to edit their own movies.
(2004 – 9 people, 2005 – 63 people)
What opportunities do we have for young people ?
Having the technology and skills provided by the Inspire Foundation we have tapped into other areas by providing the ability to film, edit and produce short movies for Camps and outings within the community.
