Youth ARC responds to the needs of young people in the Hobart area and beyond both on a program and individual basis by providing options. These include Open Access, which offers individual support from youth workers, skill development programs, opportunities to be involved in the arts, free internet access, Job search facilities and access to workers from outside services (Centrelink, Sexual Health, Mental Health); alternative education schools (ALTed and Ed Zone); and case management programs (Job Placement Education & Training, National Illicit Drugs Strategy and Transitions & Pathways Program).

At youth ARC we have skilled staff in engaging young people in personal development.
The primary areas that we address are alternative education and illicit drug use.
We can provide models for working with ‘at risk’ young people including Motivational Interviewing (a client centred model to assist people in their decision and develop strategies for dealing with an addictive behaviour) and the Circle of Courage (a holistic strength based model for understanding the issues for developing young people.

The Centre provides a safe, youth friendly environment for all young people between the ages of 12 and 25 regardless of their gender, social situation, sexual orientation or philosophical beliefs.
