Why do we exist ?
Youth Choices was established in 1999 by the Hallett Cove Youth Project inc. The aim of the program is to provide alternative education for those young people not suited to main stream schooling.
What do we do ?
We are a SACE (South Australian Certificate Education) accredited program with two stages, year 11 and year 12. We have a two pronged approach to our program, obviously there is the education side but we also focus on personal development and empowering the young people to work through their issues.
Internet research, school work, video editing.
What opportunities do we have for young people ?
We engage young people in educational programs, meeting educational requirements to gain SACE accreditation, delivering fun and informative programs that the young people enjoy being part of.
Through being involved in the Beanbag program and making a film, a group of our young people had their video put on dvd and distributed through an internet magazine. Not only did they get the satisfaction of completing a quality production but they received acknowledgment from the community.
