Why do we exist ?

Young people often face barriers when seeking legal advice and information. Youthlaw is Victoria’s only specialist community legal centre for young people providing free and confidential legal advice and information to young people. We provide support to individuals and undertake systemic advocacy to address the issues impacting on young people.

What do we do ?

Youthlaw provides legal casework, advice and information services to young people up to the age of 25. We have a drop in clinic Monday to Friday 2pm – 5pm and also provide information by email and telephone. We also provide education sessions in schools and community settings to educate young people about their legal rights and responsibilities. Laws reform is a big part of our work and we advocate for changes to make the law work better for young people.

What opportunities do we have for young people ?

We are looking at different ways to involve young people in our law reform work. If you have any ideas issues that need to be addressed in your area (e.g. a campaign) let us know because we may be able to offer advice or support.
