Why do we exist ?
youthcentral was initiated by the Victorian Government for young people—aged 12 to 25—to be actively involved in their communities and their government.
What do we do ?
youthcentral includes a website, participation opportunities and local youth representation right across Victoria.
The website,
http://www.youthcentral.vic.gov.au, offers young people practical and up-to-date information about job & career support, studying & training options, travel & transport, health & relationships, housing & accommodation, managing money, entertainment, schoolies week and knowing your rights.

Young people contribute to youthcentral through creative content, multimedia production and consultation.
Our primary participation program involves our Roving Reporters, but we also run Podcasting and Digital Storytelling projects.

youthcentral Roving Reporters
Roving Reporters are a talented team of young people who are paid and commissioned by youthcentral to write articles for the website, report on launches, events and news relevant to young people. These events may be localised in their area or of state and/or national interest.
Roving Reporters are rotated every six months and receive training to develop their writing, reporting and IT skills.
