Ahram's Profile
Why do I want to act?
Part of Inspire’s vision is, “we will take pride in living our core values of compassion, generosity, inclusiveness, responsibility and fun” encapsulates my reasons for wanting to act. Although I’d like to think that I want to act out of altruism, the truth is that helping others makes me feel good about my self, and if everyone involved benefits, what is there to lose?!
How I become involved with ActNow:
On the last semester of my BA degree I did an internship program for my Government and International Relations major, and my placement was with the Inspire Foundation. Consequently, my internship enabled me to become involved with ActNow through content development.
What have I learnt?
I’ve learnt that to be passionate about something is something to be valued. I’ve also learnt through my experience with ActNow that my actions, whether they be big or small can make an impact on the environment and society around me so I should always strive to make positive contributions.
If I could have any superpower what would it be?
A very tough question indeed! Well it would have to be a toss up between freezing time and teleporting. I love the idea of freezing time because in moments of panic, stress and/or frustration, I’d be able to literally take time out to calm down and compose myself. Also I would no longer be late to anything! On the other hand I’d love to be able to teleport so that I could travel the world, with no expenses paid!
Knowing is not enough; we must apply.
Willing is not enough; we must do.
