I think the best thing a person can do is educate themself. These days there's so much information available right at our fingertips, which makes it easy to get informed on what's happening in the world... and abroad. And when you get that knowledge, pass it on; with knowledge comes the power to change, and we're all in this together.

I believe it's frustrating trying to fix things, when you know they could have been prevented.
I believe our world is a bit screwed --- but not ending, yet.
I believe we should stop trying to make life easier for ourselves.
I believe we should quit trying to fit in and conform, and enjoy the smaller things in life, while we still have them.
I believe everyone should try to make the world a better place - don't waste a life.

As for me, I'm 17 living in Brisbane and doing year 12 this year - school captain of Tullawong State High : )
I love to write, and hence love to read. I love spending time with the special people in my life, and learning more and more about them.

I try to get involved in anything that can help me reach my goals. I aim high, and have hence landed in ActNow. I'm part of the Cash for Comments program for the next six months, which I'm very excited about.

I can't wait to see where I end up in the next few years.

Please please please please watch the documentary Earthlings.

Directed by Shaun Monson and narrated by Joaquin Phoenix, it is an amazing documentary and gives an incredible insight into the exploitation of animals by humans. It is the most compelling and important documentary I have ever watched.

It is well worth your time! videosearch?hl=en&q=earthlings%20video%20goo&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wv#q=earthlings%20video%20&hl=en&sitesearch=

If you do watch it, please tell me what you think!

We're doomed - 17-06-2008 05:52 Last updated:

The subject of saving the world from global warming is one big debate. Contradicting theories and explanations can leave us in a bigger problem than we initially thought. Try this one:

In the three days following the September 11 attacks in the US, all commercial airline traffic was shut-down. During those three days, satellite images show a sky almost completely free of jet contrails—the cloud that is formed from the condensation of water vapour and the exhaust from jet planes. Studies and comparisons of those satellite images showed that with the lack of jet contrails, came an average ground temperature increase of 3 – 5° Fahrenheit. So as we fight off greenhouse gases, which trap heat inside the ozone layer (causing a temperature increase, which is bad), it may very well be those gases that are protecting us from the sun, and thus rising temperatures. So, are we effectively screwed?
