Hi, my name is Ben I am currently working with ActNow as part of the incubator program. I grew up in rural New South Wales and have sought a varying assortment of career prospects over the last few years. Long story short, as the best usually are, after much deliberation and intense self-scrutiny I am currently a second year political science student (and loving it passionately) in Sydney at UNSW.
My interests lie in international politics in regards to animal rights, HIV/AIDS prevention, global poverty, climate change, same sex rights and local domestic politics. I believe that it is imperative to act local but think global in a changing world.
I think the current system needs much work and I believe it is up to us to change the current system for the better. Through involving ourselves in organisations and the community we develop as people and contribute to community development. This is achieved whilst helping and assisting others in the issues that we are passionate about, hence my involvement in the program is centred on supporting the individual in getting involved to create a better world.
