G'day all,

I'm currently studying Arts/Theology at Monash/MCD.  My Christian faith has driven me to love the world - people, animals, eco-systems, everything!

I am most passionate about environment & poverty issues, but more specifically how globalised consumer capitalism affects these things.  This has resulted in living a vegetarian lifestyle and buying an electric bike.

I work for Koonung Heights Uniting Church in Balwyn as a Youth Worker.  Social Justice is the core of the Uniting Church and it is a privilege to work with them.

The Ethics of What We Eat 20-12-2006 07:11

I have just finished reading a book - "The Ethics of What We Eat".  I didn't think I needed any more convincing to eat responsibly - but this book has done it anyway.  $1 = 1 vote, and personally I spend more money on food than anything else, and so does the rest of Australia statistically.  What I spend my money on, I vote to support their practices.  What do other people think?  Is ignorance bliss?  What happens when you can no longer be ignorant?  Is eating meat justifiable?  Please comment and watch the videos on my myspace.  Animal cruelty, which was initially a minor reason for not eating meat, is now a real concern along with the affect it has on the environment and world poverty.  What more reasons could we need?
