Ok, if you insist! I'm a female, who has done two uni degrees, I love people, my family, travel, food, sleep, to laugh, the beauty of nature (landscape and animals) and um potatoes!
What would I change about the world?
Well that is a question and a half, I could easily write a essay! The two broad areas I would focus on first would be the natural environment and people. I would like the world, but Australia in particular, to reduce our global warming pollution. I would like Australia to sign the Kyoto Protocol, improve its litter management, increase the use of renewable energy and reduce use of non-renewable sources, improve public transport and transport options and other issues like water conservation. What does it require? People! People need to respect the land better and live in harmony with it, like the aborigines. People need to examine their attitudes with the view of changing their behaviour for the better. Think of what we are leaving for future generations. I'm passionate about people treating each other with an attitude of love, compassion and fairness. I think people, specifically young people, need to realize the power of one. One vote can change who wins the election; one voice can make others aware there is a problem, can change the thinking in an organisation, or change the direction of a policy; and one person can change lives for the better.
What makes me want to ActNow? Injustice, concern for the disadavantaged, the natural environment and a desire to make a difference in the world no matter how small or big. Let's face it, if we don't change and become better stewards of the land, then any other current issue will become irrelevant as the environment will not be able to sustain us.
How inspires me? Mother Teresa, she didn't go into politics or business to change the world. She went where she saw basic human needs, she lived to serve others and sacrificed creature comforts to improve the lives of many others.
What makes me laugh? Life, myself, Robin Williams, different animals and their physical characteristics, children, Michael Richards aka Kramer from Seinfeld and comedies.
