"You must be the change you wish to see in the world."
-Mahatma Gandhi, humanitarian and champion of human rights.
My two biggest passions are travelling and human rights, and I guess in a way they link themselves together. All my life I have travelled the world, I was born in Estonia, grew up in Brighton, UK, and during my spare time, traveled with my parents to Wales, Ireland, Scotland, France, and Spain. My own experiences of the world have inspired me to make a differnce, therefore my purpose on this website is to learn and grow from what others have to share.
I currently live with my parents, my cat Sweet Chilli and my little sis.
I havent involved myself with organisations, chosing to focus my free time on school clubs that take action on global issues, environmental, cultural and human rights related. I have a strong interest in the environent which has evolved from my parents love of the outdoors.
In highschool I now attend letter writting groups that disscuss the issues of human rights violations. We write letters of support to women and children, most of them refugees.
My interest in human rights grew from my parents teachings, that everyone in this world, no matter their colour, race or religion, deserves to be treated the same.
Through reading many stories and novels I discovered events that occured throughout history and that are continuing today. At the age of eight I was reading about world war 1 and 2, books that described the holocaust in raw detail. By ten I was reading about human traffiking, the abuse of women all over the world and their painful lives. At the age of twelve I became engrossed in stories of communist china, an obsession which continues until this day.
I read these stories because I wanted to know all I could about these injustices and then do something about them.
If anyone asked me the one rule I live by it would be this: Dont ever say nothing can be done about a situation. Something can ALWAYS be done. Always.
