Name: Emma Lyn
I live: Newcastle or Sydney
I'm 24, and I'm certain we're living in interesting times. A potential 'tipping point' for humanity on the planet. I'v been studying for the last 5 years at Newcastle University, and am currently half way between a Masters of Business and Environmental Management, though have taken a break in my study to 'ACT NOW' in the lead up to the Federal election. I spend most of my week in Sydney working on the Adopt a Politician campaign, to make a change in all the politicians we 'adopt' in the hope we can motivate them to improve their climate change policies. When I'm not working or doing activism related activities, I'm spending time relaxing, watching movies, going to the beach, spending time with friends, cooking nice food, meditation and studying the dharma.

Get involved in the Adopt a Politician Campaign! 01-10-2007 01:16

The adopt a politician campaign is a great way to engage in local democracy between now and the federal election if you want to make a change on climate change. You can join the campaign by filling out the sign up for on the www.adoptapolitician.org website. You'll recieve a regular e-mail with quick and simple actions you can take that will (if you do them) make a big difference! This is a non-partisian campaign-we do not support any particular politicial party. We support the climate by advocating better climate policies that are science based, and will stop global warming below another 2 degrees. We're not policy experts, and you don't have to be either to be part of the campaign, we've simply spoken to them and have a pretty good hold on what it will take to stop global warming. The Adopt a Politician camapaign is a project of the Australian Youth Climate Coalition who are auspiced by the Climate Institute Sydney. www.youthclimatecoalition.org
