You here this phrase all the time "You are so lucky" - but I think the point should be how often do we stop and realise this???
Well I'm Hayley - and I am a student - who loves to get involved in pretty much anything , and have done so from a very young age...
I'm involved in World Vision's official youth movement 'Vision Generation' (VGen) who aims inspire, educate and empower young people in the fight against global poverty and injustice. For more info check out www.stir.org.au
The reason I do this is because I believe that every human being should have the right to basics at least! Food, education, and I suppose choice... This isn't happening universally - to be honest I think this really really sucks! And as a teenager in the western world I believe it should be in someways my role to at least try and get the message out there of whats going on, things that don't make our news broadcasts!
Closer to home, I am involved in Beyondblue's Youth Crew, I am a Reachout Youth Ambassador, and involved in many state projects...
As corny, as it may sound, I believe if we all work together, and actually act now!!! There can be some great stuff happening in this country!
Nothing in the world is the way it aught to be. It's harsh. And cruel. That's why there's us. Champions. Doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done, suffered, or even if we make a difference, we live as though the world were as it should be. To show it what it can be."- Josh Whedan
