Just to explain the issues that I'm into:

Water shortages
Big issue, don't want knee jerk reactions made. If you can buy a tank, do it. I get really annoyed as I see water flow from downpipes into the gutters. Such a waste.

Peak Oil
Annoyed that we kicked up a fuss when petrol reached 99c, but don't care that it gets to $1.30+. We need to move forward. Or at least conserve some. Don't buy a 4 wheel drive. You know that city folk with these are arseholes.

Recycling
We all need to do it. We should also look at avoiding the use of things that can't be recycled and composting food scraps to reduce landfill.

Nuclear Waste
It would be best if there was none, see my article about what a waste of time nuclear is, or email me for a longer rant.

GM Foods
Essential to Australia's future. We also need to look at what we grow and why we supply handouts so people can keep growing things that aren't suited to our climate.

Embryonic Stem Cell Research
Essential also. So is euthanasia. There is no place for religion in politics. If it goes against your values, don't do it, but don't stop others from doing so.

Desalination
In many cases there are alternatives to look at first. At the same time as we put them in, the USA is cancelling plans as the plants don't work as well as they should. Plus the pollution and energy they consume.

Biodiversity
Will take a huge beating as the temp increases. This is a huge deal. For medicine and for the loss of the crazy animals that we share the planet with.

Global Climate Change
How this ever gets out of the news I don't know. We need some 'power of the people' style action. This could be done on election day. But seriously, we need a visionary to push for unity on this issue. Or for someone to take the first step which will cascade down to all the other countries.

Sustainable Energy Sources
Why don't we make more efficient cars/ appliances? Because we don't have to. We need policy, the companies aren't going to do it themselves. Saving money doesn't even make sense to businesses. Spend some setting up, then reap benefits. I can't see why they're not doing it.
